DO WE TWEET DIFFERENTLY FROM OUR MOBILE DEVICE?

Do you think technology affects one's personality?

Shirley, S. (2014) said that Technology has never been more influential than it is today. People depend too much on technology. Many of us feel that we cannot exist without technology.

As a student, I use technology for many things. I use it to search for assignments and school related tasks as well as to communicate with friends and relatives that live far and also as a means of entertainment.

We benefit a lot from technology but little do we know that it is already affecting us. For example, the use of technology specifically social media affects one's social skills. People who use technology from a social media perspective to facilitate easier meetings with their friends would be fine but on the other hand those who use it to avoid any actual personal contact  will leave a negative effect in his/her social skills.

Another is technology has helped us be more expressive. Through social media we can share posts or messages online as well rant about annoying experiences and problems happening in the community or even in the world. Our political views, religious views, likes and dislikes are on display for the world to see, making one loud statement.

Lastly, technology makes us impatient. Information is instantaneous and easily accessible through the use of technology.  Today’s college students expect an automatic response to any inquiry, request or message. Unfortunately, the rest of the world hasn’t quite caught up to this speed.

Technology has left both pros and cons to us but let us always remember to be balanced in everything that we do. There's nothing wrong with using technology but let us always be mindful and remember to make a self check once in a while.
